A band of light to moderate rain continues to push
east this morning. Low ceilings ranging from 500 to 1500 feet and
visibilities of 3 to 5 miles are accompanying this band of rain as
it moves through. The rain band should finally clear KGPT by 00z.
Farther to west, some dry air intrusion after the rain ends around
20-22z will allow ceilings to improve into MVFR range of 1500 to
3000 feet for the evening hours. However, an inversion is expected
to develop tonight that will trap lingering low level moisture in
place and promote the development of low ceilings late this
evening through the overnight hours. Expect to see ceilings fall
back into the 500 to 1500 foot range resulting in a mix of IFR and
MVFR conditions. All terminals should drop into fuel alternate
levels during the overnight hours. The cloud cover should quickly
clear out tomorrow morning as drier air mixes down into the
boundary layer with VFR conditions prevailing at all terminals
    shortly after sunrise. PG
