Key ISCS-WIFS transition dates
5/1/2010: The WAFS Internet File Server (WIFS) managed by the Washington WAFC becomes operationally ready.
NOTES: Users are required to pull WAFS data products from WIFS by initiating an HTTPS session over the public internet. See the WIFS users guide for WIFS User Access and other related details. During the period from 5/1/2010 – 6/30/2012, Users who’s primary WAFC is Washington have the option to continue to receive WAFS data products via the ISCS satellite broadcast. Users can also elect to access WAFS data products via WIFS. Users can also elect to use one service (ISCS or WIFS) as a primary means to receive WAFS data products from the Washington WAFC, and the other service as a back-up means. 6/30/2012: ISCS service contract expires. Beginning 7/1/2012 users will no longer receive WAFS data products from the Washington WAFC via the ISCS satellite broadcast. Beginning 7/1/2012, WIFS will be the only means for users to access WAFS data products from the Washington WAFC.
